The Friends

Cleckheaton Library is in many ways the centre of the community in Cleckheaton. It offers a wide range of books for adults and children. But that’s not all! There are a variety of interest and support groups for all ages. Computers and printers provide internet use to people who might not be able to access them otherwise. There are regular exhibitions and engaging events. It is a place where people come to meet others, learn about new things and feel part of a community.

Friends of Cleckheaton Library are a group committed to help support the library.  Libraries across the country are under threat from budget cuts and from austerity.  Changes in technology have greatly altered the way that we access information.  We firmly  believe in the value of having a physical space where people can have a social experience, be surrounded by information and stories, share ideas and get inspired.

We are working to increase the footfall, raise awareness and increase the profile of the library.  It is our hope that the library will continue to serve the community for generations to come.
